Every year, I write a new If I Had My Life to Live Over poem. It was inspired by the original poem that starts off with the line “If I Had My Life to Live Over” by Nadine Stair.

I created and use this exercise to put out to the universe what it is that I want to manifest for the new year- my true desires, no holding back. And I’m not allowed to worry about how or whether the dreams seem realistic or possible. The more “unrealistic”, the better.

It’s amazing what can come into fruition if you just let the universe hear your truth and do its magic for you.

I invite you to write your own. Thanks for being witness to mine:

If I Had My Life to Live Over- by Tasleem Laila- 2024 version

If I had my life to live over, I’d wear more orange and yellow. I’d be bright as the sunrise, and mysterious like moonshine. I’d have a tangy zest for dreaming, and never stop believing, because I’d know they are the key to manifestation, not a lazy woman’s way of escaping.

If I had my life to live over, I’d skip down streets, making melodies and beats. The whole neighbourhood would be humming along, we’d all be singing my songs.

If I had my life to live over, I’d be a woman of grace, taking my time and soaking it all in, but also well versed in winning the races, making heads spin. I’d spread magic wherever I go, always in balance, always in flow.

If I had my life to live over, my aura would be expansive, my spirit and love gigantic! I’d know when to say, No! And celebrate the hell YESSES!

If I had my life to live over, I’d create my own paths, and take more chances. My feet would be forever dancing!

If I had my life to live over, I’d get another round at being Laila’s daughter. We’d travel and shop and laugh together. I’d never take her love for granted.

If I had my life to live over, I would have no regrets. No pining for rewinds, or edits. I’d write many books, and speak with a reverence, keeping me forever connected to the heavens.

Divine timing would lead the way. I’d thank my army of angels every day. Forward moving, unstoppable I’d be, knowing this is just one of many lives for me.

Like Abraham says, there really is no death. Just invisible realms, a string of life after life after life to comes. We’re never gone, and it’s never done. What looks like an end is just new beginning, but I’d still make the most of every moment I’m given.

If I had my life to live over.
